I had forgotten how elegant Sheen's prose was until the recent revival of interest in him. this little book is delightful, and not necessarily restricted to Lenten ideas, e.g. - Humility is like underwear. WE all need it but it should never show. The Scriptural references are most welcomes
very nice. I am just getting to know Bishop Sheen and am fascinated by his writing. Books are a bit slow to read (you'll need your kindle or PC dictionary handy!) But the books are worth the trouble.
Excellent nuggets of wisdom from Bishop Sheen. His prose is beautiful, and the meditations bring peace and hope.
With the daily quotation and reflection for each of the 40 days,it helps keep you focused during theses turbulent and distracting times
