Herbert Zettl is a professor emeritus of the Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts Department at San Francisco State University (SFSU). While at San Francisco State University, he headed the Institute of International Media Communication and received the California State Legislature Distinguished Teaching Award and, from the Broadcast Education Association, the Distinguished Education Service Award. Prior to joining the SFSU faculty, Zettl worked at KOVR (Stockton-Sacramento) and as a producer-director at KPIX, the CBS affiliate in San Francisco. While at KPIX, he participated in a variety of CBS and NBC network television productions. Because of his outstanding contributions to the television profession, he was elected to the prestigious Silver Circle of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), Northern California Chapter. He also is a member of the Broadcast Legends of the NATAS, Northern California Chapter. Zettl has authored VIDEO BASICS, VIDEO BASICS WORKBOOK, TELEVISION PRODUCTION HANDBOOK, and SIGHT SOUND MOTION, which are translated into several languages and published internationally. His numerous articles on television production and media aesthetics have appeared in major media journals worldwide. He has lectured extensively on both subjects at universities and professional broadcast institutions both nationally and internationally. I bought this for my teenage son who is interested in media production as a possible career choice. He started out just reading it for fun, and is now finding useful tips in it for the documentary he's making for his social studies class. It's a bit pricey new, but if you can find a good used copy this is a worthwhile book.

Best nursing purchase ever! It far exceeded my expectations. If your facility requires you to do the courses online, this pocket guide will be a huge help. Since our hospital no longer buys the book to help get through the online courses, this pocket guide was a God send. The book is online on Healthstreams, but it is not practical to not have an open book when going through scenarios. This pocket guide has scenarios, along with EKG strips and descriptions along with the important text information. I wish I had it when doing the PALS. I now can look forward to doing ACLS on line now that I have this pocket guide. The pocket guide is already being a huge help getting my telemetry readings interpreted. I found this to be a great resource for getting up to speed on Core Data after a while away from it.It's easy to skip around to concepts you need some work on. I was able to read the well written high level theory portions of some topics, and go a little deeper with the full tutorials on others.Of note is that full featured sample projects are included with the book. The code is very good quality - I learned a bit in general about Swift 3 reading it. I was able to use quite a bit of the CD code in my own project.I read the PDF version, and just ordered a print copy.

Whether you're completely new to Core Data or have some experience with it in the past, this book is great. I takes you from the very basic concepts of data management for Apple devices, to more complex topics such as boosting the performance of your apps, testing your Core Data models, and synchronizing across devices with Apple's iCloud.As mentioned in previous reviews; if you are already familiar with some topics you can easily skip a chapter or two without missing the bigger picture. The sample code provided with the book is of a very high quality and follows the latest and greatest trends in the Swift ecosystem.I not only learned a ton about Core Data, but also a lot about programming in Swift in general.

The book is really great.Wow! I'm so glad someone had the foresight to preserve the Boundary Waters Canoe Area!

First thing to consider is that this is not a nature but a history book. Although there is "Quetico-Superior" in the title, the book mainly discusses the U.S. portion of the wilderness, the information about Quetico Provincial Park being rather scarce. The book tells the story of the long process of protecting the wilderness.The text is very detailed, giving opinions and writings of numerous persons and organizations, episodes which describe given persons, board feet of lumber, how much was asked for lands aqcuired for the park, details in the court etc. 10 pages of historical photos are included.The high point is the story of E.W. Backus and his dam plan. Excellent writing! After finishing it, I admit I felt respect and even pity for this man who wanted to destroy the wilderness. Another excellent part is the end where Searle expresses final thoughts about the protagonists, the great conservationists Oberholtzer, Hubachek, Olson, Kelly and Winston. Some other parts are not equally well written being rather catalog-like. The author says he has tried to be neutral but does not succeed always. Anyway, the story brilliantly shows how in the eternal fight between the conservationists and the exploiters, the latters are always the party that is ready to lie in the court and to explode bombs at the homes of their opponents.

I was really hesitant to buy the book with my precious Amazon gift card because what if it wasn't worth the price. I am glad to say that it was worth the price. My gift money was well spent. I enjoyed this book cover to cover!The authors included so many tips and tricks that I haven't even heard of in the clay sculpting world. Tricks that I have tried and work fantastically. A little bit of humor is added and a good amount of dino facts too.

This book is a dream come true for every one interested in dinosaur sculpting, but I firmly believe that it could also be very valuable for anyone interested in any kind of sculpting...even if clay is not the medium used. The step-by-step description of the process is priceless. Thank you.

Totally misleading book title! this book is NOT about showing how to sculpt a dinosaur, a lot of text and very few black and white picture. It does NOT teach anything. Money wasted!!! Not worth the price at all.Very mad and disappointing customee

This is good, but I really expected more, with content to include the more modern techniques, resin and acrylics. As it is it is still a good starter on sculpting.

In 1995, when I was still a cute pup (and not a junkyard dog, like I am now), Allen Debus and Bob Morales, both sculptors, decided to share their years of experience and knowledge in creating awesome prehistoric animal sculptures with the world in a book titled, "Dinosaur Sculpting." The small press run was an immediate, huge hit and quickly sold out. (You can still find "collector copies" on Amazon.com from $225 to $650 each.) Luckily I still have my original copy that I reviewed in Prehistoric Times magazine all those years ago and it was fun to compare that one with the new second edition that I know Bob and Allen and his wife Diane are very proud of; and rightly so. I'm sure they have developed both as writers and sculptors in almost twenty years since their first book and they definitely have much more to say in this beautiful new edition. Chapters include; an overview of paleoimagery, a step by step formula for creating a prehistoric animal sculpture from the wire armature to creating fine details to baking the clay. Chapters also cover sculpting all the different types of prehistoric animals and how to research each. You will also read about dioramas, painting your finished piece and even troubleshooting help. There are plenty of b&w photos and illustrations, some accomplished by yours truly. Is it fair that I review a book written by friends of mine and one that I even wrote the foreword for? Maybe not, but in twenty years of book reviews I pride myself on always telling my true opinion and I tell you now that if sculpting prehistoric animals is your thing, you MUST own "Dinosaur Sculpting, A Complete Guide 2nd edition" for everything you want to know on the subject in an easy to understand and emulate format. It's A to Z to recreating a realistic, scientifically accurate prehistoric animal 3D work of art.

I did not purchase this because the reviews were helpful in that they told me this book is in black and white! Being a sculpting book for dinosaurs, thus should have been in color for sure

For a hunter, this is a must have atlas. It shows most logging roads, and it can get you back home when your GPS isn't working.

Used my new atlas yesterday and found the info for small, back roads very good. It's hard to tell in Lane County, OR where a road might lead to on not. So far the info is accurate. Looking forward to my next, off the main road, trip.

Good maps showing a lot of forest service roads. Downside is that there isn't a detailed map of the Portland, Salem or Eugene metro areas. Even with cell phones and GPS it's nice to have paper maps.

Had a version back in 2000.. Time for an upgrade!This version is very nice and is obviously updated well from the 2000 one..Despite GPS and Cell phones.. it's nice to have a map!

We travel the back roads a lot and use the maps constantly. There are not too many times that a rogue road appears that is not on the map. A must-have for the trips to the boonies!

Order arrived in a timely manner, this was purchased as a Father's Day gift to replace an old outdated version.

Poor detail of areas!RETURNED
